AVK temporarily stops Donetsk factory
23 January 2015
Donetsk’s AVK confectionery factory temporarily stops its work because of the inability to ensure safe working conditions for employees and for the enterprise performance. Dnepropetrovsk’s confectionery factory, which is the largest production area of the company, continues to operate at the present moment.
Since Donetsk’s AVK confectionery factory is now in the range of active hostilities, this situation has created a threat to the lives of employees, who could not leave ATO zone due to the family commitments. Also, it became impossible to maintain procurement and supply of food raw materials, as well as production and sale of finished product.
Given the priority of the safety of its employees, the company decided to temporarily stop the factory in Donetsk. Last year, in July, Luhansk’s AVK confectionery factory also temporarily stopped its work. The company helped hundreds of families of the employees who worked in the factories in Luhansk and Donetsk, offered them work in Kiev and Dnepropetrovsk in 2014, paid for their relocation and housing for their families.
The factories will be put into operation again once the situation allows AVK to ensure proper and safe working conditions at the enterprises in Donetsk and Luhansk.
