Recently, the qualifying final of the sports tournament “Seni Cup 2014” took place in Ukraine. Winners of the games in Kyiv will go to the international final of “Seni Cup”, which is traditionally held in the Polish city of Torun.
The International Football League holds the tournament annually for young people and children with disabilities from orphanages and neuropsychiatric boarding houses of Ukraine.
Football games within the tournament are carried out according to all the rules of FIFA. The matches are officiated by referees of the international category of Football Federation of Kyiv. The final game brings together winners of regional sports competitions from 12 regions of Ukraine.
Aside from Ukraine, the qualifying competitions are held in 9 European countries. Poland is the place where meet all winner teams from all the countries participating in the tournament.
This year, Ukraine in Poland will be presented by the team of Shevchenko Orphanage (Kharkiv region) and the team of Teteriv Orphanage (Zhytomyr region), which were elected by the coordinator of the International League. It has become an every-year tradition that a representative comes from Poland and selects one additional team to participate in the tournament; that enables all boarding schools to participate in the soccer games in Poland by turns.
In recent years, the tournament was expanded with more sports, including darts, chess, checkers in order to attract those orphanages that can not participate in active sports.
This year the company AVK presented sweets to all participants and guests of the competition, whereas the winners have a special surprise waiting for them – the journey to Dnipropetrovsk and chocolate factory tour.
“The tournament “Seni Cup” is a great opportunity for people with disabilities and special needs to express themselves, to discover and develop their abilities and to participate in international competitions”, says the director of Dnepropetrovsk’s confectionery factory and Operations Manager of AVK, Oleg Haryazha. – And that is why AVK has provided their support in this inspiring event for the third time”.
